MANNMADESOUND: from left to right–Ray Naccari, Val Ghent, Bobby Harden, Dakota MacLeod, Dave Mann, Brett Bass, Michael Moss, Chris Carter, Bill Foster (hidden, on drums)
The 7th Annual Westbeth Music Festival is in the books. What a weekend (9.30-22.13)! Friday night, the CD Release Party for INTERVALS (4th Stream Records, ERG Publishing 2013) was packed with friends–old and new. Billy Stein and I opened up the set with the soprano sax, then moved on to flute and Bb clarinet in a duo that keeps evolving. Then ZONE stepped in and played a couple of my tunes, Swimmin’ Hole, Waeving, plus some of Mel Nusbaum’s material, and then ended with power gospel singer Arlene Gottfried vaulting over No Trouble at the River, and Otis Redding’s These Arms of Mine.
I also played the next day and night in the Festival–firstly with Mannmadesound, the Dave Mann group (blues!) and then The Raytones for a dance party. Starting to come down from heaven.
Thank you Westbeth and all our friends for supporting the music and buying the cd. You can go to CDBABY to buy or download a copy of INTERVALS by MICHAEL MOSS BILLY STEIN DUO: http://www.cdbaby.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?AlbumID=michaelmossbillysteinduo
